Information on the 2009 Children`s Health & Wellbeing Expo

On Saturday June 13th 2009, Leaps & Bounds hosted the inaugural "Children's Health & Wellbeing Expo".

The Expo included local exhibitors from a variety of Health and Fitness service providers for babies and children, as well as some amazing guest speakers.

The Gold Coast City Council Active and Healthy GC Program supported this event.

PREVENTION OF SKIN CANCER

Lynda Brough is a Nurse of the Year participant for Cancer Council Queensland. Nurse of the Year is a fundraising and education campaign whereby nurses educate the community about cancer and the support services through Cancer Council Queensland. Lynda also undertakes fundraising activities throughout a nine month long campaign to raise funds for much – needed research and support services for local cancer patients.

Lynda will be presenting a session on Skin Cancer which will provide the audience with information about the risk factors for skin cancer, how common skin cancer is in our community, and the key strategies that can be used to protect children’s skin against damage which can lead to skin cancer in later life.
